You connect your source, or open the app as usual, and a message appears: "Your provider's server refused the connection (code 403)." The IPTV error 403 is one of the most common problems with Xtream-compatible services. It is also one of the most misunderstood: the refusal does not come from Klyvo Play, but from your provider's server. Here is what it means and what to do.
Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the Xtream-compatible service you already use and are authorized to use.
What the error 403 message means
In full, the message reads: "Your provider's server refused the connection (code 403). Check the URL, try your M3U link, or ask your provider to allow KLYVO PLAY." It can appear in two places:
- under Connect your source, when you add your login;
- on the Home screen, when your playlist can no longer be read, with a Retry button.
The number is the answer your provider's server sent. 403 means "forbidden": the server received the request and decided to turn it away, before Klyvo Play could read your playlist. When the app knows more, the code is followed by a few words — for example the name of the protection in front of the server, or the title of the refusal page. Keep them: they tell your provider exactly who refused and why.
A 403 is different from a wrong password. When the username or password is wrong, the app asks you to check your credentials instead.
The usual causes of a connection refused
- The line has expired or been suspended. Some servers answer 403 when the subscription is over. Check the end date of your playlist — see how to check your playlist's end date.
- Too many connections. Each line allows a set number of simultaneous connections. If the same login is already in use on another device — or in two panes of Multi-Live — the server can refuse the next one.
- An anti-flood block on your IP address. Many servers block an address that sends too many requests in a short time. Once blocked, every address of that server answers 403 to your network — whatever app you use.
- A wrong server URL. A missing port (such as :8080), an old address, or a URL meant for another kind of player can all be refused.
- A line restricted to certain players. Some providers only allow specific apps or devices on a line.
What to do about an IPTV error 403
- Check the server URL with your provider: the exact address, including the port, as they gave it to you.
- Try your M3U link instead of the Xtream login, or the other way round — see Xtream login or M3U link.
- Stop playback on your other devices for a moment, in case the line's connection limit is reached.
- Restart your device and your router. With many internet providers, restarting the router gives your home a new public address.
- Wait a little, then select Retry. Some blocks are lifted after a while; asking again and again only prolongs them.
- Contact your provider with the exact code shown, and ask them to allow the KLYVO PLAY player — it identifies itself as KLYVO/1.0.
How Klyvo Play limits its requests
Because anti-flood systems count requests, Klyvo Play is built to stay well below them:
- Never more than three requests at once to your provider, and never more than four per second — the other requests wait their turn.
- A refusal is not repeated straight away. A 403 is an answer, not a hiccup: asking again at once would only count against your device.
- Temporary failures — a network drop, a server error, a request that takes too long — are retried a couple of times, with a growing pause between attempts.
- Answers are shared between screens: Home, Live, Movies and Series reuse what was just read instead of asking the server again.
FAQ
Is the error 403 a problem with Klyvo Play? No. The code is the answer of your provider's server. The decision to refuse the connection is made on the provider's side, which is why they are the ones who can lift it.
Why does my line work in another app but not here? Some lines are restricted to certain players or devices. Ask your provider to allow the KLYVO PLAY player (KLYVO/1.0).
Will reinstalling the app fix it? Usually not. If the server blocks your address or your line, reinstalling changes nothing; check the steps above and contact your provider.
