A safe, private IPTV player: what Klyvo Play keeps

Where your logins are kept, what the app sends and never sends, and why the device codes are not your hardware's MAC address — plainly.

An IPTV app holds the keys to a paid service: a server address, a username, a password. Before you type them, it is fair to ask what happens to them. This article explains, plainly, what makes Klyvo Play a safe, private IPTV player — and where its limits are, because privacy claims are only worth something when they are precise.

Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the service you already use and are authorized to use.

Your credentials stay in the device vault

On iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Android, the login details of your source are stored in the system's secure vault — the Keychain on Apple devices, the Keystore on Android — and never in the clear in the app's ordinary storage, which a backup could expose. The parental PIN is kept in the same vault.

So that you can manage your playlists from the client portal, a copy of each playlist is also kept on the Klyvo Play servers, encrypted at rest and tied to your device codes. Logins are never displayed again once saved. A reseller who activated your device sees the playlist's name, server, status and end date — never the logins.

No ads, no third-party trackers

The apps contain no advertising and no third-party tracking or analytics tool. What you watch is never used for advertising, and personal data is never sold.

Precision matters here, so here is what the app does send to the Klyvo Play servers: a device identifier generated by the app, the platform and app version, the approximate country and city of the latest connection, and, while a video plays, the title of the channel or film on screen — used to display active sessions, replaced at each change and erased when the player closes. The full list, with retention periods, is in the privacy policy.

Device codes are not your hardware MAC address

Klyvo Play shows two codes: an address in the format of a MAC address, and a Device Key. Both are generated by the app on first launch and identify this installation — Klyvo Play never reads your hardware's real MAC address. The address is built as a locally-administered value, a range that no network card uses. The codes are kept in the secure vault too, so they do not change when you log out.

Those two codes are enough to manage the device's playlists on the portal, with no email and no password — see MAC address and Device Key. Treat them like a house key: share them only with someone you trust to manage your device.

Playback: from your service to your screen

When you watch a channel, film or episode, the stream travels from your service to your device. Klyvo Play hosts, sells and supplies no channel, film or series. That is the whole difference between a player and a provider, explained in IPTV player or IPTV provider.

Erasing everything, when you want

  • Reset device in the menu permanently removes, from this device, its identity (address and Device Key), its playlist, its profiles, its downloads and its preferences — and a new identity is generated. To avoid accidents, you confirm by typing a word.
  • The portal can remove a playlist, or delete all of a device's data on the server.
  • Profile photos never leave the device.

FAQ

Does Klyvo Play read my hardware's MAC address? No. The address shown is generated by the app and only has the format of a MAC address.

Can Klyvo Play see my provider password? Logins are stored encrypted, on the device and on the server, and are never displayed again — not even to the reseller who activated your device.

Is there advertising or a tracker in the app? No advertising, and no third-party tracking or analytics tool. Your rights over your data are described in the privacy policy.
