Resume an IPTV film where you stopped: Continue watching

You stopped a film halfway, or fell asleep in the middle of an episode. Here is how Klyvo Play remembers where you were and gets you back there in one click.

To resume an IPTV film where you stopped, you do not need to remember the time or scrub through the timeline: in Klyvo Play, close the player whenever you like, and the film waits for you in Continue watching on Home, with a bar showing how far you got. Select it and playback picks up at the moment you left. Series work the same way, with one extra trick — when you finish an episode, the card moves on to the next one. This guide explains how resume playback works, where to find it, what counts as "finished" and the small details that make it reliable every evening.

Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the service you already have and are authorized to use, with its Xtream login or its M3U link.

How resume playback works in an IPTV player

A film or an episode from your service is a file read over the network. While it plays, Klyvo Play regularly notes how far into it you are. When you leave the player — with the Back button, by closing the mini-player on a phone, or simply by opening something else — that position is saved on the device. Next time you open the same title, the player reads the saved position first and only then starts, so it never begins at zero by mistake and then jumps.

This applies to films and series episodes (VOD). Live channels have no "position": a live channel is always now. If you missed the beginning of a live programme, that is a job for catch-up, when your service offers it.

Where to find Continue watching

  • Home: a Continue watching row shows what you started, the most recent first, each card with a progress bar.
  • Films and Series tabs: the same row appears at the top, so you can resume a film without going back to Home.
  • The details page: the main button reads Resume instead of Play, and the page shows the percentage already watched (for example "42% watched").
  • A series page: the button names the episode, such as Resume S2 E3, and the page opens directly on that season.

The row shows up to twelve titles at a time, so it stays a quick shortcut rather than a second catalogue. Everything you finish disappears from it, and everything you start appears at the front, which means the title you want tonight is almost always the first card.

On a TV (Apple TV, Fire TV) the Continue watching row is part of Home and is reachable with the remote like any other row. On a phone or tablet, a tap on the card resumes straight away.

When a film counts as started, and when it counts as finished

A good resume feature has to guess two things: when you really started something, and when you are done with it. Klyvo Play uses simple, predictable rules:

  • Started: past the first 2% of the title. Opening a film by mistake and closing it after a few seconds does not clutter the row.
  • Finished — film: when less than 10 minutes remain, which usually means you are in the end credits.
  • Finished — episode: when less than 5 minutes remain.
  • When the length is unknown: 97% watched counts as finished.

A finished film leaves Continue watching on its own. If you open it again later, it starts from the beginning instead of jumping to the credits.

Series: pick up at the next episode

Series are where resume matters most. Klyvo Play keeps one card per series in Continue watching, never a pile of episodes. While an episode is in progress, the card resumes it. Once it is finished, the card moves on to the next unwatched episode, and the series only leaves the row when the last episode is done.

Inside the player, two helpers make binge-watching smoother:

  • Next episode: about 20 seconds before the end, a card appears with a short countdown ("Playing in 10s"). Let it run, or dismiss it to stay. The countdown pauses while the video is paused or while you are scrubbing.
  • Skip intro: during the first minute and a half of an episode, a Skip intro button jumps ahead. It is never automatic, so it cannot skip real content when an episode has no intro.

On the series page, each episode shows its own state: a thin progress bar while it is in progress, the minutes left, or a mark once you have watched it. Details on seasons and episodes are in our guide to IPTV films and series.

One Continue watching per profile

Continue watching belongs to the profile, not to the whole device. If two people share the living-room TV, each one finds their own films and episodes, and nobody's series jumps ahead because someone else watched an episode. Switching profile switches the row instantly. See family profiles to set them up.

  • Kids profile: it has its own Continue watching, built only from what that profile can show.
  • Adult 18+ mode: nothing played in that mode is remembered, so it never appears in Continue watching once the mode is closed.
  • Stored on the device: the history is kept on each device. A film paused on the TV does not appear on your phone — start it there and it will be remembered there too.

Small tricks while you watch

  • Double-tap the left or right side of the screen on a phone to go back or forward 10 seconds.
  • Scrub on a TV with ‹ › and press OK to play from the chosen moment; the position you choose is the one saved if you leave right after.
  • Playback speed can be changed for films and episodes, from 0.5× to 2×; it goes back to normal for the next title.
  • Audio and subtitles: the player picks your language automatically when the film carries it, and you can change it at any time — see subtitles and audio tracks.

When a film does not resume where you expected

Resume depends on the player knowing the title and its length. A few situations can make it behave differently:

  • The film was removed or renamed by your service: the card may no longer open. Find the title again with search and start it.
  • You watched it on another device: history is per device. Open it on the device where you stopped.
  • You were in another profile: switch back to the profile that watched it.
  • The stream never really started: if a film stops in the first seconds because of a network or service problem, there is nothing to resume yet. Our guide to films that will not play covers the usual causes.
  • The app's data was reset: resetting the device from the settings deletes its profiles and preferences, history included — see resetting the app.

The list keeps a reasonable number of recent titles, so very old unfinished films eventually make way for new ones. That keeps the row short and useful.

FAQ

Does Continue watching work for live TV? No. It is for films and episodes. A live channel has no saved position; for programmes you missed, use catch-up when your service provides an archive.

Can I remove a film from Continue watching? The simplest way is to finish it, or let it drift down the row as you watch other things. Finished titles leave the row automatically.

Is my progress synced between my TV and my phone? No. Continue watching is kept on each device and for each profile.

Why does a series show the next episode instead of the one I watched? Because you finished it. The card moves to the next unwatched episode, so one click carries on the series.

Does resume use extra data? No. It only stores a position on the device; playback resumes from your service as usual.
