A film starts in a language you did not expect, or subtitles appear that you would rather turn off. When the stream carries several languages, you can change the IPTV subtitles and audio track directly in the Klyvo Play player — in a couple of taps on a phone, or with the remote on a TV.
Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the Xtream-compatible service you already use and are authorized to use.
Where audio tracks and subtitles come from
Audio tracks and subtitles are part of the film, episode or channel itself: they are prepared by your source, not added by the app. A film may carry, for example, an original-language track and a dubbed one, plus one or more subtitle tracks. Klyvo Play lists exactly the tracks the stream contains, with the names the stream gives them.
That is why the choice is not always offered: if a film has a single audio track and no subtitles, there is nothing to choose, and the button does not appear.
Your language, picked automatically
When a film or a channel offers several tracks, Klyvo Play picks the right ones for you as soon as playback starts, based on the language of the app:
- Audio: if a track is in your language, it is selected.
- Subtitles: if the audio you will hear is not in your language, subtitles in your language are turned on — when the film has them.
You can of course change either choice at any moment, as described below.
Change subtitles and audio track on a phone or tablet
- During playback, tap the screen to show the controls.
- In the top bar, tap the language button. Its label follows what the stream offers: Audio · Subs, Subtitles or Audio.
- A sheet opens. Under Audio, choose the language you want to hear. Under Subtitles, choose a track — or Off to remove them.
The track you are using is marked with a check. For a live channel, the same sheet also holds the Picture format — see how to remove black bars.
Change subtitles and audio track on a TV
On Apple TV and Fire TV, press OK during playback to show the controls, then select the language button (Audio · Subs, Subtitles or Audio). A panel opens with one list per type of track: move with the arrows and confirm with OK. For films and series, Off is always at the top of the subtitle list, so turning subtitles off takes one click.
Formats: the built-in VLC engine
Changing tracks only helps if the file plays in the first place. On iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android and Fire TV, Klyvo Play plays films, series and channels with a built-in VLC engine, which reads containers and codecs that many system players reject — MKV, AVI and HEVC among them. You do not need to install anything else.
In the Windows app, audio that the PC's playback engine cannot decode (such as Dolby AC-3 or E-AC-3) and MKV or AVI films are converted on the fly — details in our Windows guide.
More options for films and series
Next to the language button, the Quality button gathers the other playback settings for films and episodes: quality, playback Speed and picture format. When a film offers several video versions, a Video track choice appears as well.
FAQ
Why is there no Audio · Subs button? Because the stream has only one audio track and no subtitles. The tracks are prepared by your source; when there is only one, there is nothing to choose.
Can I add my own subtitle file? No. Klyvo Play shows the subtitle tracks contained in the film or channel your source provides.
The track names are codes like "eng" or "Track 2". Why? Track names come from the stream itself. Klyvo Play displays them as your source labelled them.
